Approach

First and foremost, our target group is the “working with socially excluded individuals, groups and communities”. DISHA will work with target communities and areas where development has not reached so far. This has particular reference to the geography and the diverse terrain of Rajasthan. There will be a shift in our approach of working & engaging with all the key stakeholders in the community and not just with the socially excluded groups. Considering that Panchayati Raj Institutions ( PRI) have been given government programs and schemes to implement, over the years DISHA has adopted a “rights based approach” to ensure that the program benefits reach the most needy communities. DISHA will continue to work on the rights based approach. Community participation in Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation will be another important part of the implementation of the “participatory approach” of functioning. This will require capacity building in these areas which the organization will invest in, in the coming years. To further the cause of the communities we work with and for, we would like to proactive network with likeminded organizations and key stakeholders on issue based agendas.
